ABOUT US
Bayview Church was founded on faith, vision, and a deep desire to serve the community. In the fall of 1962, Rev. L. L. Henderson recognized the need for a place of worship in the Detroit
Heights–Valencia Park area. Through prayer, guidance, and perseverance, he secured the church’s first property in April 1963, laying the foundation for what would become a thriving ministry. During a transitional season without a senior pastor, Bayview remained steadfast in prayer and unity, supported by faithful leaders including Rev. W.E. Manley and Rev. H.L. Farrell.
On June 19, 1973, God answered those prayers by sending Rev. Timothy James Winters. Pastor Winters led Bayview with vision, dedication, and a heart for strengthening believers. Over 40 years of leadership, his commitment to following the Holy Spirit helped shape Bayview into a vibrant and impactful church community. Today, Bayview continues to build on that legacy—creating a space where people can grow in faith, stay connected, and live out God’s purpose together.
